About Me
Conor O'Boyle is an Irish composer, producer and orchestrator from Derry/Londonderry, writing music shaped by melody, atmosphere and the emotional movement of a story.
For screen, his work moves between restrained underscore and larger cinematic gesture, with credits including Murder in the Badlands, HYFIN, The Agreement, The Dodger, The Boxer, Operation Pablo and Stand Up. His score for After the Bomb formed part of a film recognised at Galway Film Fleadh and Beverly Hills Film Festival.
His concert music spans orchestral, piano, string quartet and chamber writing. Works such as Fantasia for Strings and Harp and Autumn Impressions draw on Romantic colour, lyrical line and contemporary texture.
As a producer and recording artist, Conor also works in contemporary music. Welcome to Platonic Shapes brings together jazz, pop, rock and electronic influences, while his string arrangements for And So I Watch You From Afar's Jettison! sit between song, score and orchestral atmosphere.
His music has been recorded at Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin and by the European Recording Orchestra in Sofia, and performed at venues including The Sage Gateshead and London's Southbank Centre. He also teaches with the Film Scoring Academy of Europe.
